Stones of silence. Looking south from the edge of the Hindu Kush before it turns Karakoram. Over the horizon, our destination, Pakistan. Pamir, Wakhan Corridor, Afghanistan.
I always bring bits and pieces from trips, often picked up on the ground, abandoned objects covered in dust. They pile up in a box titled “Memorabilia”. Some are too big… sometimes it’s a mountain! So I resort to taking my camera, getting an image of this unintentional work, like photographing art installations in a gallery. The world can be a museum.
