It was the night before we climbed Woolio-e Sar, an unclimbed 6000m peak in the Karakoram in Pakistan near the border with China. We bivouacked right here below a huge boulder high abovethe Shimshal Pamir. Me and my friend Bruno woke up at 4am and found our way up.
September expedition deep in the Shimshal Pamir, just my friend Bruno and I. No jobs, no responsibility, just lust to get dusty and live off instant noodles. We were looking for caves used as dwellings around the uninhabited Braldu valley in a time when the glacial cover was much larger and it was easier to commute between Turkestan and Hindustan. We cached food, ropes and crampons under rocks to pick up on our return and climbed a peak.
